As our church comes together to seek clarity on our policies surrounding LGBTQ issues. Please keep the following dates in mind:
July 21, 2024:
Begin a season of prayer and fasting for our church and its leadership. Here is a guided list of the topics we are praying for each day.
August 10, 2024: Congregational Meeting 1
We will meet to share the most current details from the General Conference of the United Methodist Church and from the Kentucky Annual Conference with regards to same sex marriage, ordination, and appointment of LGBTQ persons. We’ll have time for questions, and begin discussing our church’s values which will come into play as we set our policies.
August 25 – September 10, 2024: Congregational Survey
We will seek to get a clear picture of the variety and strength of opinions held by our congregation. The survey will be available in person and electronically.
September 14, 2024: Congregational Meeting 2
We will gather to view the results of the Congregational survey and seek to agree in principle on the outline of our church’s policies around LGBTQ issues.
Early October, 2024: Our aim is to release a working draft of our church’s policies to the congregation.
