Well, we begin this week’s update with an apology.

For those of you who tried to join our live simulcast on Sunday and were unable to do so or who had a less-than-spectacular experience with the technology, be assured we’re working on remedies. We’ll be rechecking sound settings and rethinking how we preview the stream before it hits the internet (rather than afterwards.) We’ve spent quite a few hour on this already this week, and have a scheduled tech rehearsal tomorrow evening to check how the new set-up is working.

In the meantime, the service IS RECORDED and available through the same link on the church web as the Sunday Service was supposed to be. Give us another week to work out all the kinks on our own end, and then we’ll try to set up a “help desk” to aid people in getting online on Sunday mornings.

For those of you who made it to the church to participate in person, it was good to see you, and we hope you felt the same!

This coming Sunday, our Sunday Schools and Children’s ministries are restarting some of their in-person options. Be sure to check out the entries by Sequoia and Jamie (below) on what to expect this coming Sunday.

From Jamie J:

From Sequoia:

uly 5th– Children’s ministry resume. On this day we will offer; Sunday school, nursery & G3 children’s church.

Sunday school: Will begin at 9:30am. Will meet in the big room in uptown. Tables and chairs have been spaced out. Mr. and Mrs. Grise will continue to teach this class.

Nursery: will begin at 9:30am. NEW LOCATION: classroom in Uptown. The room as been outfitted with all necessary items. We do ask that you limit to one adult for drop off and pick up (preferable the same adult). As well as limit item left/ size of diaper bag if possible.

G3: begins at 10:45am. There will be no Time for Children during the church service. After Sunday school children’s will transition to G3 in the big room, we will not come to sanctuary. Instead once a child is checked into Uptown they will remain there until picked up by a parent. So if you do not normally attend Sunday school upon arriving to church for service you will need to bring your children directly to Uptown and not the sanctuary as in the past.

Some new rules in place:

All children 5 years of age and up are asked to wear a face mask while in the building.

All adults are required to wear face mask including Sunday school teachers & nursery workers will also have on gloves (that will be changed between diaper changes and feedings)

All children are required to be check in on the computer system. We will provide a glove for the adult signing in and computer will be sanitized.

All children will sanitize their hands before entering and leaving Uptown arear.

If you have any questions or would like to know all behind the scene precautions being taken for your safety and the safety of your children as well, do hesitate to contact me at

Children Break Time!!!! I would love to schedule a time to visit children and their families in safe, socially distant ways — like chalk in the driveway or eating in lawn chairs. You can view available times, and sign up for one here, https://bit.ly/3c6VfxC, I can’t wait to catch up on what’s been happening with you all!

UpTown Children Ministry is starting a new video-based lesson going through the book of Philippians, answering the questions; Where Does Joy Come From? With everything we are going through it can be hard to find joy right now, but I promise you it is there!

We will meet every Wednesday morning 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This is for all ages and don’t worry if you can’t make it today or another day, you can jump in and out of this series as your schedule allows. Don’t forget your bibles. See you then!!
