So it’s almost here.
This Sunday, we will open the doors for in-person attendance at our 10:45am and 6:00pm worship services. Pleas be aware that we are NOT hosting Sunday School classes this week. Some classes will be available beginning next week, but many have elected to continue meeting online. If you would like to join one of the online classes, contact Jamie Jordan for more information.
We are also no offering nursery or child care this week. We DO plan to have a full lineup of children’s ministries beginning on July 5.
When you arrive on Sunday, our greeters will be available to do a quick temperature check and to remind everyone that we expect everyone to be in masks while they are in the building. We’ll be seated at proper social distance from one another in the sanctuary. Members of the same household may be seated together, but we will enforce a “one household per pew” limit and skip pews. At the evening service, we will seat one household per table and space the tables to allow for proper social distancing. We also discourage direct physical contact (such as hugs and handshakes.)
If you are sick or have been sick in the last two weeks, we ask you to stay at home as a way of protecting one another. Likewise, if you have preexisting health conditions that place you at risk of infection, we invite you to stay home and participate in our worship services online. If you have a history of heart or respiratory disease, please don’t place your health at risk by attending church.
Our morning service will feature both traditional and contemporary music. We will encourage attendees to listen silently or to sing very softly as an act of personal worship.
The morning offering will be received in an open basket at the doors. This week we will also be receiving a special offering for our United Methodist Children’s Home. If your would like to send an offering directly to the Home, their address is 115 Ashgrove Road, Nicholasville, KY 40456
For the time being, we will not serve Holy Communion at our services until we have arrived at a means of doing so safely.
No food or drink of any kind will be provided at the church.
We WILL continue to offer online worship services via a link on the church’s web page. You may join us in “real time” at 10:45 or 6:00, or watch the recorded services later in the day or later in the week.
I need to take this opportunity to thank the staff and volunteers who are doing the work to make our in person worship possible and safe. We really have an incredible team of dedicated people.
Finally, for those of you who have not already heard, we lost a dear friend and member of our church last night (Tuesday, June 23.) Chastity Ross passed away at Baptist Health in Richmond. Chastity had a number of ongoing health issues going back to birth.
If you met ever Chastity, I’m sure that you remember it. We’ll miss her infectious smile and incredible energy. Please be in prayer for Millie and all the members of her family, along with a universe of close friends.
