We’ve tried to keep in touch electronically through this pandemic, but there’s not really a replacement for real, in-person, face-to-face (or, mask-to-mask) time together. So we’ve scheduled a one-time gathering for each of our youth small groups. These will be outdoor gatherings of 10 or fewer people, and social distancing will be in effect (6 feet between all people). See a schedule and more details below.

If you will attend a gathering, please let Jonathan know (by text or email at ). We’ve planned in ways that we think will result in groups of 10 or fewer, but we want to know ahead of time if we’re pushing that limit, so we can make other plans if need be. We know these gatherings may not fit everyone’s schedule (or be everyone’s favorite activity), but we had to make plans based on hosts and leaders and outdoor possibilities first.

We are not providing any food for these gatherings — those who attend should eat dinner beforehand or bring dinner with them to eat. Everyone should also bring their own water with them to drink (especially those going hiking).

If we have a poor weather forecast the day of any of these gatherings, we will cancel it and hope to reschedule at some point in July. We will announce by 3 p.m. the day of a gathering if it’s canceled due to weather (if you’re going to attend, make sure you tell Jonathan so you get this message!).

You can message Jonathan with any questions you have, or to let him know you’re attending!

***grade levels listed are last year’s (2019-2020), not “rising” levels for next year***

5th-, 6th- and 7th-grade girls — Wednesday, June 24, 6:30-8 p.m. at the Pinnacles (2047 Big Hill Road, Berea). We’ll meet in the parking lot there. This will be hiking, so you’ll need to have appropriate shoes (not flip-flops), and you’ll need to bring your own water (and plenty of it). It’s especially important that you let Jonathan know if you’re attending this, as we don’t want to leave the parking lot and start hiking if someone who’s coming hasn’t arrived yet.

All boys — Thursday, June 25, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Jordans’ house (115 Norton Drive) and/or Zak Coleman’s house (across the street from the Jordans’). This will involve the pool at Zak’s house and possibly something wet at the Jordans’, so bring a swimsuit and towel. This gathering might be split into two groups, one at each house, if we have more than 10 people.

8th- through 12th-grade girls — Friday, June 26, 6:30-8 p.m. at the Upchurches’ house (169 Wildcat Drive). This will be a pool party, so bring a swimsuit and towel. ***Note that previously there was a separate gathering Saturday for 10th- through 12th-grade girls; this has now been combined with the gathering on Friday.***

Thanks to our wonderful hosts for agreeing to have us! Hope to see you at these gatherings or talk to you soon!
