Luke 19:28-40, 22:14-23:49

There are many poignant moments in Luke’s telling of the Passion narrative, but the last line may be the most haunting of all: “But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.”

What would it mean to move from the role of spectator to Christ’s suffering to a people who partake of his suffering to gain the power of the resurrection?
