This week the scripture comes from Acts 9:1-4. On a couple of occasions in the book of Acts, the early church is called “The Way.” In John’s Gospel, Jesus uses the same title to refer to himself. What does it mean that the early church thought of themselves as more of a journey than a destination? Why does this identity seem to invite persecution from within the religious communities to which they previously belonged?
