Life Groups @ FUMC

What’s a Life Group?

A Life Group is a group of people gathered together with the intent of making each other better disciples of Jesus. How does that happen? Sharing in a Life Group is centered around the question, “What has God been doing in your life this week?” (The historical way of asking would be, “How goes it with your soul?”) Each Life Group has a facilitator to guide the conversation as each group member shares as they feel comfortable. The focus is on transformation instead of information. The goal is to grow in our faith, together.

What if I’m already in a small group?

A Life Group is not intended to be a substitute for other Bible study groups in which you may want to participate. To grow to your fullest, you will probably still want to be a part of a Sunday School class or other learning group.

Who are Life Groups for?

Our Life Groups are for any youth or adult who desires to grow in their faith in a spiritual community. God uses each of us to grow one another! Persons in a Life Group can be anywhere on their faith journey, from undecided to a devoted Christian. Because of the casual atmosphere, Life Groups may be the place to invite your neighbor, your friend, or your co-worker who is hesitant to attend a worship service. Some groups may even set out an empty chair as a reminder to invite others.

When and how do the Life Groups meet?

Life Groups meet when it is best for the group. Days and times will vary. Some groups will meet in-person; others will meet over Zoom.
